The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has announced changes to the dates and venue for its upcoming congresses and National Convention, as outlined in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on December 30, 2024.
According to the notification signed by Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the party’s National Convention will now take place on **January 20, 2025**, at Rock View Hotel, Apapa, Lagos State, from **9 PM to 6 AM**.
The revised schedule for the congresses is as follows:
– **Ward Congress**: January 13, 2025
– **Local Government Congress**: January 15, 2025
– **State Congress**: January 16, 2025
– **Zonal Congress**: January 17, 2025
These changes are in line with a judgment from the Abia State High Court (Suit No HUZ/11/2024) and were deemed necessary to ensure smooth execution of the party’s activities.
The NNPP extended its apologies for any inconvenience caused by the adjustments and expressed its appreciation for INEC’s presence at the congresses and convention to observe and monitor proceedings.
The party reiterated its commitment to transparency and adherence to due process in its political engagements.
