The Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji, FCIB, has sent a message of hope and inspiration to the management and staff of the Authority as they step into the year 2025. In his New Year message, Oyebamiji reflected on the achievements of 2024 and outlined a strategic roadmap for the year ahead.
Expressing gratitude to God for preserving lives and granting health, Oyebamiji described 2024 as a transformative year for NIWA, despite the challenges faced. He highlighted the resilience, innovation, and dedication that propelled the Authority to achieve key milestones and strengthen its operational foundation.
“The year 2024 was a significant turning point for the National Inland Waterways Authority. Despite some challenges, we demonstrated resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment to our vision and mission. Together, we achieved milestones that have positioned us for greater success,” Oyebamiji stated.
Looking forward to 2025, he emphasized the importance of building on past successes to drive sustainable growth and transformation in Nigeria’s inland waterways sector. Oyebamiji noted that the collective efforts of the staff have the potential to enhance connectivity, promote sustainable practices, and foster economic development across the country.
“Our collective efforts have the power to transform the Inland Waterways sector, improving its safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Let us embrace the new year with renewed hope and energy, setting ambitious goals and working collaboratively to achieve them,” he added.
The Managing Director also encouraged staff to maintain their commitment to excellence, innovation, and collaboration as they strive to achieve the Authority’s vision. He prayed for a prosperous and fulfilling year for all, expressing optimism that 2025 would bring progress and success for NIWA.
