NIS Alerts Public To Rising Fake Recruitment Scams, Urges Caution

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has issued a stern warning to the public against fraudulent recruitment advertisements orchestrated by scammers. The Comptroller General of Immigration, KN Nandap, has expressed concern over the alarming rise in fake recruitment activities, urging Nigerians to exercise caution.

In a statement released on December 4, 2024, the NIS emphasized that all its recruitment exercises are conducted transparently, based on merit, and are free of charge. Official job vacancies are announced exclusively through the NIS website, recognized national newspapers, and other authorized government channels.

The NIS revealed that it is collaborating with relevant authorities to apprehend and prosecute individuals behind these fraudulent schemes. The Service reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity in its operations.

Comptroller General Nandap advised members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to these scams. He urged individuals to report any unsolicited messages or approaches by persons claiming to represent the NIS on recruitment matters.
