In his inaugural address, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, the newly appointed Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), unveiled his vision to cultivate a purpose-driven organization. Emphasizing effective communication as a cornerstone, Mobereola outlined his commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and synergy across all levels of the agency.
Asserting a focus on safety, security, efficiency, and environmental sustainability, Mobereola articulated his vision for NIMASA’s future. “We must strive to foster innovation and excellence in everything we do,” he declared, acknowledging the evolving landscape of the maritime industry driven by technological advancements and changing market dynamics.
Mobereola underscored his belief in the potential of every individual within the organization and pledged to invest in staff, processes, and the overall system to realize NIMASA’s mandate. “I aim to foster an environment of innovation, collaboration, and synergy,” he affirmed, highlighting the importance of nurturing employees’ skills, talents, and creativity.
Expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment, Mobereola affirmed his commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, diligence, and service to the nation. He also acknowledged the guidance of the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, and expressed readiness to collaborate in achieving the ministry’s objectives.
Mr. Chudi Offodile, the Agency’s Executive Director of Finance and Administration, conveyed the elation of the entire management and staff at welcoming Dr. Mobereola. He pledged the staff’s cooperation for the agency’s success under the new leadership.
Dr. Dayo Mobereola, a seasoned professional in transport economics, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and Commissioner for Transportation in Lagos State.
Appointed by President Tinubu on March 11, 2024, Dr. Mobereola’s term as Director-General of NIMASA is renewable for four years.
