NIMASA Strengthens Surveillance, Revenue Generation With C4i Intelligence Tool

In a bid to enhance maritime surveillance and optimize revenue generation, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has granted its Surveillance Unit single-user access to the Windward tool of the C4i intelligence system.

This strategic move extends the application of the C4i facility—previously focused on safety and security—into shipping development and revenue monitoring. By leveraging advanced intelligence technology, NIMASA aims to improve maritime oversight, strengthen intelligence gathering, and block revenue leakages to ensure a more efficient and transparent system.

Under the leadership of Dr. Dayo Mobereola, the management of NIMASA has reaffirmed its commitment to refining internal processes for optimal performance across all operational areas.

The C4i Centre, a key component of the Deep Blue Project, stands for Command, Control, Communication, Computer, and Intelligence. It plays a crucial role in intelligence gathering and data collection, significantly contributing to the security of Nigeria’s maritime domain. As a result of these efforts, the country has maintained zero piracy incidents for over 24 months.

The integration of C4i intelligence tools into NIMASA’s surveillance operations is expected to further enhance maritime security, regulatory compliance, and economic efficiency within the sector.
