The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy have been honored with presidential recognition for their exceptional service delivery. Announced by Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, the Special Adviser to the President on the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), NIMASA was lauded as the best government agency for exemplary teamwork, quality service delivery, and consistency. The Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy was also named the overall best performing ministry in Nigeria.
Dr. Oduwole revealed that NIMASA’s 33 operational activities underwent rigorous scrutiny alongside those of 36 other federal agencies. She praised the agency for its outstanding performance and acknowledged Minister Adegboyega Oyetola’s commitment to enhancing service delivery across all agencies under his ministry.
In response to the award, NIMASA’s Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, expressed gratitude on his official social media handle, dedicating the award to NIMASA staff and highlighting the support from Minister Oyetola. “This award from PEBEC and by extension the presidency is a call to serve more,” Mobereola stated, emphasizing the agency’s dedication to creating an enabling environment for local and foreign investors in Nigeria’s maritime sector.
The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), chaired by Vice President Kassim Shettima, was established to eliminate bureaucratic barriers to doing business in Nigeria. This recognition aligns with the Business Facilitation Act 2023, which aims to promote transparency and efficiency in the business environment.
