In a resolute bid to reinforce professionalism and bolster capacity within its ranks, the Nigerian Police Force has taken a significant stride by inducting 31 Police Public Relations Officers and PR experts into the esteemed National Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). The induction ceremony, a highlight of the just concluded Conference and Seminar for Nigeria Police Public Relations Officers and PR Experts in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, showcased the force’s dedication to continuous improvement.
The induction, conducted by the President and Chairman of the NIPR Council, Dr Ike Neliaku, represented by Vice President Professor Emmanuel Dandaura, underscores the force’s commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and development among its personnel.
IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, represented by Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police CP Olatoye Durosinmi, emphasized the pivotal role of these newly inducted officers as the face of the force. The IGP charged them to leverage their acquired knowledge to enhance communication and cultivate positive relationships between law enforcement and the public.
ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, expressed profound gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for his unwavering support toward advancing the Public Relations Department, describing it as unprecedented.
This initiative aligns with the Force’s commitment to upholding professionalism and adherence to ethical standards, reflecting their dedication to continuous training and development in compliance with the NIPR Act of 2004.
