The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT has successfully conducted a raid on a criminal hideout in Gidan Drama, Malu Road, Apapa, leading to the arrest of 27 suspected drug peddlers. The raid, which took place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, was carried out based on credible intelligence that identified the location as a hotspot for illegal drug activities.

Commodore Paul Ponfa Nimmyel, the Commander of NNS BEECROFT, who was represented by Executive Officer Captain Idongesit Udoessien, confirmed that the operation was part of the ongoing efforts under Operation MESA to combat drug-related crimes in the region.

The 27 suspects, consisting of 3 females and 24 males, were apprehended in possession of hard drugs and other illicit substances. The arrested individuals are as follows:

Following the raid, all 27 suspects and the seized substances were handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and action.
