The Western Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its partnership with SIFAX Group to ensure the security of Nigeria’s coastal and maritime environment.
During a recent courtesy visit to the management of SIFAX Group, Rear Admiral Michael Gregory Oamen, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Western Naval Command, expressed appreciation for the unwavering support provided by SIFAX Group to the Navy in its security operations.
In a statement by Olumuyiwa Akande, Group Head of Corporate Communications at SIFAX, Rear Admiral Oamen emphasized the importance of collaboration between military and private sector stakeholders to ensure a secure and prosperous maritime industry.
“We have a constitutional mandate to secure our maritime domain for both economic activities and national security,” said Rear Admiral Oamen. “This is not a task we can accomplish alone. Over the years, our cooperation with key maritime stakeholders like SIFAX Group has been instrumental in achieving our objectives.”
Responding on behalf of the Chairman, Mrs. Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, Group Coordinating Director of SIFAX Group, welcomed the Navy delegation and highlighted the longstanding mutual support between the two entities.
“SIFAX is home to all stakeholders in the maritime sector, including the Nigerian Navy. We value our partnership and look forward to continued collaboration to enhance maritime security and trade,” she stated.
The visit marked a reaffirmation of the shared vision between the Nigerian Navy and SIFAX Group to foster a secure maritime environment that supports business operations, logistics, and national economic growth.
