Nigerian Correctional Services, Nigerian Breweries Strengthen Security Ties With Nigerian Army


In a move to strengthen security and operational efficiency, the Assistant Controller General (ACG) of the Nigeria Correctional Services (NCS), Zone A Command, Opeyemi Fatiniku, has sought the collaboration of the 81 Division, Nigerian Army.

During a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa, at the division’s headquarters in Lagos, ACG Fatiniku expressed gratitude for the army’s ongoing support in securing correctional facilities in Lagos and Ogun states. He highlighted the importance of a stronger partnership to enhance intelligence gathering, improve security measures, and ensure the safety of both correctional staff and inmates.

In response, Major General Mijinyawa assured the ACG of the division’s continued commitment to supporting the NCS. He emphasized that troops stationed at correctional centers within the division’s area of responsibility remain prepared to respond to any security threats. He commended the NCS leadership for its proactive approach and welcomed further collaboration.

In a related development, Nigerian Breweries (NB) has also sought to strengthen ties with the 81 Division. The brewery manager, Nduka Nnabuihe, led a delegation to the GOC, where he emphasized the importance of security collaboration to create a safer working environment for NB employees and stakeholders.

Major General Mijinyawa, in his response, appreciated the long-standing relationship between the brewery and the division, acknowledging NB’s support for military activities.

The visits concluded with the signing of the visitor’s book, an exchange of commemorative plaques, and group photographs.
