The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced with deep sadness the passing of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Njangor Egbe Njom (Rtd.), who died on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the age of 82.
AIG Njom, who passed away peacefully in his sleep, was born on March 15, 1942, in Etomi Village, Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State. He had a distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force, rising to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police. Known for his unwavering integrity, commitment, and selflessness, AIG Njom earned a stellar reputation throughout his career. He also served as a one-time commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy in Kano, where he helped shape the future of the nation’s policing leadership.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, AIG Njom was also a devoted pastor at the Deeper Life Bible Church, where he continued to serve with devotion after his retirement. His commitment to faith and service extended far beyond the confines of his official duties, earning him admiration as a role model and mentor to many. His life was one of dedication, discipline, and compassion, inspiring countless individuals throughout his lifetime.
The Inspector General of Police and the entire Nigeria Police Force have expressed their heartfelt condolences to AIG Njom’s family, friends, and loved ones, mourning the loss of a distinguished officer and a man of great faith.
“AIG Njom’s legacy as an officer of distinction and a man of unwavering principles will continue to inspire generations to come,” said the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
