Nigeria Police Force Escalates Crackdown On Criminals, More Arrests Confirmed by FPRO

The Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, continues to demonstrate unwavering commitment in the fight against crime, with recent successes in apprehending criminals involved in various heinous activities.

Following the tragic kidnapping and murder of Naheeba, the dedicated efforts of the IGP Special Intervention Squad (SIS) have led to the arrest of Idris Ishaku, alias Yellow, a member of the kidnapping syndicate responsible for Naheeba’s abduction. The relentless pursuit of justice resulted in the neutralization of five members of the syndicate, including their leader Mai Gemu, leading to the safe rescue of the kidnapped victims.

Further operations on February 5th and 8th saw the neutralization of Isa Dei-Dei, a gang leader in the FCT, and a group of notorious kidnappers and gun runners in Nasarawa State, respectively. The FCT Anti-Kidnapping Unit, in collaboration with local security operatives, engaged bandits in Nasarawa State, leading to the rescue of two kidnapped victims and the arrest of Saidu Abdulkadir, a wanted informant.

In Plateau State, on February 15th, a swift response by police operatives and local security thwarted the abduction of three persons in GRA Pankshin. The criminals, realizing the superior firepower of the police, abandoned the victims who were subsequently rescued and given medical attention. Efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing criminals.

The vigilance of Nasarawa State Police Operatives on the same day led to the arrest of Daniel Akpadiaha for the attempted abduction and stabbing of Martha Dogara. A subsequent search of the suspect’s residence yielded recovered items, including the victim’s clothes and a locally made pistol.

In Lagos State, the tactical team conducted a raid on criminal hideouts, resulting in the arrest of 22 suspects, including Emeka Collins, a wanted individual.

While addressing the nation, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, reiterated the police’s determination to eradicate criminal elements, ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens. He assured the public that efforts are underway to apprehend those involved in the Ekiti school pupils’ kidnapping and the killings of traditional rulers in Ekiti and Kwara.
