In a significant move towards modernizing the Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun Ph.D, NPM, has mandated the reactivation of the Police Smartforce Database Management System. The initiative is part of the IGP’s broader digitalization agenda aimed at streamlining administrative processes and enhancing internal security.
The reactivated Smartforce Database System will capture and store detailed information for all officers, facilitating efficient record-keeping and minimizing administrative challenges. Additionally, the system will simplify the tracking of postings and transfers, while RFID Cards will be issued for personnel identification.
The primary goal of the database is to elevate competence and enhance service delivery across all aspects of policing. Integrated with modern technology and state-of-the-art appliances, the system aims to reduce reliance on manual administrative methods, ensuring effective workforce management within the Nigeria Police Force.
Emphasizing his vision for a technologically-driven police force, the Inspector-General of Police has directed an immediate commencement of the digitalization process across all Commands and Formations. He charges officers to enroll in the process at their respective commands and formations nationwide.
