The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has issued a public warning about the rising activities of fraudsters impersonating the NCS on social media platforms. These fraudulent entities are preying on unsuspecting individuals by promoting fictitious auctions and sham recruitment drives falsely associated with the NCS.
In a statement issued by Abdullahi Maiwada, Chief Superintendent of Customs and National Public Relations Officer, the NCS clarified that all auctions of seized or overtime goods are conducted through a formal Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in accordance with the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023. These auctions are never conducted via social media platforms. The only official portal for e-auctions is [https://auction.nigeriatradehub.gov.ng](https://auction.nigeriatradehub.gov.ng).
The NCS urged the public to verify all information about its operations through the official NCS website ([www.customs.gov.ng](http://www.customs.gov.ng)) or by contacting their help desk at 07037891156, 0201889889, and 02018898888. Additionally, the public can reach out to NCS formations nationwide for verification.
For accurate and timely updates, the NCS recommended following their official social media accounts:
