The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adeniyi, has forged a collaboration with the Abdulsamad Rabiu Initiative Africa (ASR Africa) to facilitate humanitarian intervention projects across Africa. This initiative was unveiled during a meeting between CGC Adeniyi and the ASR Africa team at the Nigeria Customs Service Headquarters in Abuja on Monday, April 29, 2024.

In his remarks, CGC Adeniyi commended ASR Africa for its remarkable progress and pledged full support to work alongside the foundation. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with stakeholders to enhance operations in areas requiring interventions, noting that such partnerships are vital, especially in critical aspects where the NCS lacks adequate resources. Adeniyi expressed readiness to implement decisions made during the meeting, underscoring the significance of ASR Africa’s growth for the welfare of the NCS.

Dr. Ubon Udo, the Managing Director of ASR Africa, outlined the organization’s focus on health, education, and social development, with an annual budget of $100 million. He highlighted ASR Africa’s aim to partner with the NCS to create a safe and secure environment while promoting border integrity and security. Additionally, Dr. Udo extended an invitation to the Comptroller-General to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for a hospital construction project intended for the Nigeria Customs Service in Bauchi.
