Following the impressive feat demonstrated by Comptroller Yusuf Malanta led Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has once again intercepted illicit drugs at the Lagos Ports Complex.
The Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd), to further encourage productivity has applauded his commendable efforts for the seizure of container No. GESU 6642430 (1×40 FT) laden with 1,427 cartons of unregistered pharmaceutical products imported into the country.
CGC Ali therefore described his outstanding feat as ‘a sterling performance,’ for exercising due diligence on the interception and arrest of the banned items.
The intercepted container was concealed with 144 cartons of 200mg Tramadol tablets; one carton of 100mg Tramadol tablets, 958 cartons of Septran (Co-Trimoxazole), 180 cartons of CAC – 100 Plus Effervescent Tablets and 144 cartons of Oxytocin Injection.
According to a released statement, the commendation letter signed by Comptroller KA Olusemire, the CGC was quoted as saying that: “By this act, you have demonstrated Zero tolerance attitude for corruption and other vices in line with the policy thrust of this administration.”
Sequel to Comptroller Malanta’s achievements, the letter also commended all officers and men of the Command for the laudable feat exhibited to make the nation proud, the statement disclosed.
