Nestlé Nigeria PLC has launched Golden Morn 3-in-1, the country’s first ready-to-eat cereal, offering consumers enhanced convenience and affordability. The new product was unveiled at a press conference on March 17, 2025, in Lagos, marking a major milestone for the beloved Golden Morn brand, which has been a household staple since 1986.
Speaking at the launch, Wassim Elhusseini, MD/CEO of Nestlé Nigeria PLC, described the innovation as a significant step in the company’s commitment to providing accessible and affordable nutrition. Golden Morn 3-in-1 combines Nigeria’s favorite maize and soya cereal with milk, requiring only the addition of water to prepare a complete meal.
“This product was developed over two years in our in-house Research and Development center. At Nestlé, we employ a meticulous innovation process to achieve the right balance between nutrition and taste, ensuring we meet consumer preferences,” Elhusseini stated.
The new product is fortified with GRAINSMART Protect, a blend of essential micronutrients, including iron, vitamin B1, B5, and C, to support the immune system. With the addition of milk, it also provides calcium and protein, making it a nutritious and affordable option for families.

Omofasa Orhiunu, category manager, dairy, emphasized Nestlé’s commitment to tackling food insecurity and malnutrition in Nigeria. Citing a 2024 report by FAO, IFAD, UNICEF, and WFP, he noted that over 172 million Nigerians could not afford a healthy diet in 2022.
“By providing accessible and affordable nutrition, we are not only addressing a critical global health issue but also contributing to the overall development and prosperity of our society,” Orhiunu said.
Golden Morn 3-in-1 comes in a 45g pack priced at ₦300, making it a cost-effective option for Nigerian households. The innovation is expected to be widely accepted in the market, as it eliminates the need to purchase separate milk and cereal, reducing the cost of a nutritious meal by up to 32%.
Nestlé Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to continuous product innovation and stakeholder engagement to ensure that quality nutrition remains within reach for all Nigerians.
