Nestlé Nigeria celebrated a significant milestone with the graduation of 20 young men and women from its Technical Training Centre (TTC) in Flowergate. This event marks the first-ever graduation at the Flowergate facility, part of Nestlé’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and skill development.

The Flowergate TTC, established in 2023, is a continuation of Nestlé Nigeria’s broader technical training initiative that began in 2011. Over 200 young Nigerians have successfully completed the rigorous 18-month program since its inception. Nestlé has invested over six billion naira in this initiative, highlighting the company’s dedication to developing the next generation of skilled professionals.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Wassim Elhusseini, Managing Director/CEO of Nestlé Nigeria, praised the graduates, saying, “For over 13 years, our commitment to nurturing young talent reflects our confidence in the future of this generation. This year, we proudly graduated 70 skilled professionals across all our centers, including Agbara and Abaji, who have now joined our team. Our program is about more than just skills training—it’s about empowering young people to shape their futures and become catalysts for change.”

The technical training combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on engineering experience, culminating in the prestigious City and Guilds of London Technicians’ Certification. This qualification greatly enhances the employability of participants.

Prominent leaders, including His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land, and other distinguished guests, attended the ceremony. They applauded Nestlé’s initiative in empowering young Nigerians.

Nestlé’s broader youth empowerment strategy, embodied in the Nestlé Needs YOUth initiative, reaches an average of 25,000 youths annually, helping them access economic opportunities and preparing them for an evolving industrial landscape.
