Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), will preside as Chairman at the highly anticipated SUPERNEWS Nigeria SMEs Conference. The event is set to take place on June 13, 2024, at the Radisson Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, starting at 10 AM.
This announcement was made in a statement by Ngozi Onyeakusi, Publisher of SUPERNEWS Nigeria, who emphasized Dr. Maida’s selection as Chairman. She highlighted the NCC’s crucial role in fostering a robust regulatory framework that supports the Federal Government’s financial inclusion policy. This policy is seen as pivotal for Nigeria’s economic growth and financial stability.
Dr. Maida’s distinguished academic and professional background underscores his suitability for this role. He earned a Master of Engineering in Information Systems Engineering from Imperial College London in 2002 and later obtained a PhD in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath in 2006. Further enhancing his expertise, Dr. Maida completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship (FinTech Pathway) from the Cambridge Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge in 2019.
The conference aims to gather a diverse group of participants, including regulators, key stakeholders from the financial services and ICT sectors, as well as small business owners. The focus will be on integrating SMEs into the financial services network through the use of fintech innovations.
Dr. Biodun Adedipe, the Founder and Chief Consultant of B.
