The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) wants to bring to the attention of the public a concerning issue regarding a fraudulent LinkedIn account that is impersonating our esteemed Executive Vice Chairman (EVC), Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta.

It has come to our notice that some unscrupulous and criminal individuals have created this account with the intent of deceiving unsuspecting members of the public and social media users into believing it belongs to the EVC of NCC.

We would like to clarify that Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, the EVC/CEO of NCC, does not have a LinkedIn account. Therefore, any LinkedIn account claiming to be associated with the EVC of NCC is unequivocally fake.

We are taking this matter seriously and collaborating with relevant security agencies to thoroughly investigate the origin of this fraudulent act and put a stop to it promptly.

In light of this situation, we urge the public and our valued stakeholders to exercise caution and vigilance while engaging on social media platforms or in cyberspace.

Unfortunately, there are numerous deceptive individuals and groups seeking to defraud unsuspecting users.
