The National Communication Commission (NCC) took proactive steps to empower Nigerian Youth Corpers with essential skills for managing their data effectively through a comprehensive sensitization program held in Keffi, Nasarrawa State, on May 3rd.
The initiative aimed to address the growing concern of data depletion among youth participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, exacerbated by the widespread use of smartphones and digital communication platforms.
During the event, representatives from the NCC provided Corpers with practical advice and strategies to optimize their data usage. Attendees learned techniques for conserving data, including adjusting app settings, utilizing Wi-Fi networks, and monitoring usage patterns to avoid unexpected depletion.
The program emphasized the importance of understanding data plans and identifying data-intensive applications to ensure efficient data allocation throughout the service year. By equipping Corpers with these skills, the NCC aims to empower them to navigate the digital landscape responsibly and maximize the benefits of connectivity during their service tenure.
The initiative underscores the NCC’s commitment to promoting digital literacy and empowering Nigerian youth with the knowledge and tools necessary to leverage technology effectively for personal and professional development.
