NASENI Unveils Homegrown Technological Solutions At 19th Abuja International Trade Fair

L-R: Deputy Director, Technology Business Development, Edward Abaver, NASENI; representative of the EVC/CEO, National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Director of Information, Olusegun Ayeoyenikan; and Deputy Director of Information, NASENI, Chima Akwaja at the NASENI Day held on Wednesday 25th September, 2024 at the ongoing Abuja International Trade Fair.

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is showcasing a range of indigenously developed technological products at the 19th Abuja International Trade Fair, currently taking place at the Abuja Trade and Convention Centre on Umaru Yar’Adua Way.

The event, organized by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), offers NASENI an opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to its 3C’s principle—Creation, Collaboration, and Commercialization—by presenting some of its technological innovations to a global audience. All 12 of NASENI’s Development Institutes, including NASENI Solar Energy Ltd (NSEL), are participating in the exhibition, displaying various products and technologies.

Highlighted at the NASENI stand are innovations such as the NASENI Transformer, NASENI CNG Conversion Centre in Utako, Solar CCTV, Automatic Change Over Switch, Solar Kit Trainer, Rotary Furnace, Digital Road Sign, Animal Feeds Machine, and other advancements.

During NASENI’s designated day at the trade fair, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, represented by Mr. Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, Director of Information, New Media and Protocol, emphasized the agency’s commitment to showcasing products aimed at transforming Nigeria’s economy. This aligns with NASENI’s mandate and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who chairs the agency’s governing board.

“The objective of participating in this event is to promote NASENI’s technologies and products nationwide, while also creating global awareness of our brand. Our participation will help increase patronage and secure new engagements with stakeholders and technology end-users,” said Halilu.

NASENI, as the only federal agency tasked with research and development, production, and manufacturing in the areas of capital goods, machines, and equipment, plays a critical role in Nigeria’s industrialization and sustainable development efforts. Under Halilu’s leadership, NASENI has made significant progress in technology transfer and domestication, enhancing its service delivery and contributing to the country’s industrial growth.

The theme of this year’s fair, “Mobility: Options for Transportation, Trade Finance, and Transportation,” has attracted over 500 exhibitors, showcasing more than 10,000 products and solutions to over 100,000 participants and visitors.
