The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has commenced a two-day strategic retreat in Abuja for Overseeing Officers, Project Managers, Coordinating Directors, and Directors from its headquarters. The retreat aims to ensure greater cohesion among NASENI’s Development Institutes and align their objectives with the agency’s overarching goals and vision.
The retreat focuses on enhancing leadership skills, fostering synergy with the headquarters, maximizing resource utilization, and streamlining decision-making processes. It also aims to reorient research and development (R&D) efforts toward innovative, market-ready solutions capable of driving sustainable economic growth.
In his opening address, NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, described the retreat as a pivotal moment to create a blueprint for action. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and commitment in positioning NASENI to lead Nigeria toward technological innovation and self-reliance.
“This retreat is about more than planning—it is about crafting a shared vision and strategy to propel NASENI into a future defined by innovation and technological advancement,” Mr. Halilu stated.
He highlighted the agency’s guiding principles of Creation, Collaboration, and Commercialization (3Cs) as critical to its renewed vision. These principles, he said, aim to develop cutting-edge, commercially viable solutions that directly benefit Nigerians and align with the President’s renewed hope agenda.
“NASENI has always been a beacon of innovation and a catalyst for progress,” he noted. “To remain true to our mission in this rapidly evolving world, we must continuously adapt, align, and refocus our efforts.”
Mr. Halilu acknowledged the remarkable work accomplished across NASENI’s specialized institutes but stressed the need for a unified approach to achieve extraordinary outcomes. He called on participants to engage fully, think boldly, and collaborate purposefully.
“This is our moment to redefine our collective impact and demonstrate an unyielding commitment to excellence that defines NASENI,” he concluded.
The retreat underscores NASENI’s dedication to advancing indigenous technology and innovation to address national and industrial challenges, positioning the agency as a leader in driving Nigeria’s technological aspirations.
