Nasarawa Assembly Demands Justice For DPO Killed In Kano

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) has called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, and the Kano State Government to ensure that those responsible for the brutal murder of CSP Muhammad Ali, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rano in Kano State, are identified and brought to justice.

The lawmakers, during plenary on Tuesday in Lafia, condemned in strong terms the gruesome killing of the senior police officer, describing the act as unjustified, inhumane, and unacceptable.

The late CSP Ali, who hailed from Nasarawa State, was reportedly killed while discharging his official duties. His death has sparked outrage and sorrow, particularly among members of the security community and his home state.

Raising the matter under public importance, Hon. Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki (SDP, Lafia Central), expressed deep concern over the increasing attacks on law enforcement officers and urged the House to take a firm position on the matter.

Responding, the Speaker of the Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, joined in the condemnation and emphasized the need for justice to be served. He stressed that bringing the perpetrators to book would not only honor the memory of the slain officer but also serve as a deterrent to others who may contemplate such violent acts.

“The killing of CSP Muhammad Ali is a painful loss to Nasarawa State and the entire police force. We are calling on the Inspector General of Police and the Kano State Government to thoroughly investigate this matter and ensure that those responsible face the full wrath of the law,” Dr. Jatau said.

The House observed a moment of silence in honor of the fallen officer and pledged its continued support to efforts aimed at safeguarding security personnel across the country.
