Minister of Arts and Culture Launches 4th Jagunlabi Football Tournament

The Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hajia Hannatu Musa Musawa, has officially endorsed the 4th edition of the Jagunlabi Football Tournament. This announcement was made during a ceremony in Abuja on Monday.

The tournament, sponsored by Barr. Abiola Abdulkareem, also known as Jagunlabi, who is the Special Adviser to the Minister on Sub-national Engagements and a former House of Representatives aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun, and Oke-ero Federal Constituency of Kwara, aims to unite the people of the constituency through sports.

In her address, Minister Musawa underscored the vital role of sports in fostering cultural exchange and youth development. She emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance culture, art, and sports within local communities.

“Sports have the power to unite us, and events like the Jagunlabi Football Tournament are essential in promoting cultural exchange, youth development, and community engagement,” stated Musawa. “I commend Barr. Abdulkareem for his dedication to grassroots football development and empowering the youth.”

The 4th edition of the Jagunlabi Football Tournament aims to foster unity, discover new talent, and engage the community in the Ekiti/Oke Ero/Isin/Irepodun federal constituency. The event will feature ten teams competing in twenty matches, set to take place at the Osi Central School football pitch in Osi, Ekiti local government area of Kwara State.

Barr. Abdulkareem expressed his gratitude for the Minister’s support and reiterated his commitment to grassroots football development. “We are thrilled to host the 4th edition of the Jagunlabi Football Tournament, and we look forward to an exciting competition that will showcase the talents of our youth. This event is a testament to our commitment to supporting grassroots football development and empowering our communities,” he said.

The tournament, celebrated as a beacon of unity and friendly competition, promises to bring together youth from diverse backgrounds, fostering camaraderie and mutual respect through sportsmanship.
