A chilling tale of betrayal, murder, and fraud has come to light as Delta State Police investigate the brutal killing of a man identified as Paulinus, allegedly orchestrated by his trusted friend, Efe.
According to reports, Efe, who had been entrusted to facilitate the purchase of a property for Paulinus, diverted the N30 million he received for the transaction. Instead of securing the property, Efe allegedly purchased two plots of land and began constructing a house for himself using the funds.
When Paulinus demanded accountability and the delivery of his property, Efe reportedly conspired with three other suspects to eliminate him. The suspects allegedly tied Paulinus to a stake, beheaded him while he was still alive, and buried his head at a shrine in a bid to cover up their crime.
In a further twist, Efe allegedly extorted an additional N20 million from Paulinus’ family, falsely claiming that Paulinus had been kidnapped and needed ransom money.
