League Of Maritime Editors Congratulates Adeniyi On His Appointment As New CG Of Customs

The League of Maritime Editors (LOME) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Alhaji Bashir Wale Adeniyi on his recent appointment as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) by the federal government.

In a congratulatory message signed by President Chief Timothy Okorocha and Secretary Mr Felix Kumuyi, the League expresses its belief that Adeniyi is a deserving candidate for this position, considering his extensive experience in the Service.

With over 30 years of customs administration expertise, encompassing strategic and operational responsibilities, Adeniyi has been thoroughly prepared for the challenges of his new role, according to the League.

The League also highlighted Adeniyi’s profound understanding of the intricate nature of international trade, emphasizing his status as a core professional in the field.

The Editors offer their advice to the new CG, urging him to uphold professionalism within the Service and to rectify any shortcomings that may arise for the betterment of the Nigeria Customs Service.

Part of the message reads, “We also implore you to leave a lasting legacy of professionalism, enhance trade facilitation, improve the welfare of officers, and drive transformative changes within the Service throughout your tenure. By accomplishing these objectives, you will validate the longstanding demand from maritime industry stakeholders that only career officers should assume the position of CG of Nigeria Customs.”

The League prayed for Adeniyi to be granted wisdom and strength by God to carry out his new responsibilities in the best interest of the nation.
