Lagos State Police Debunks Kidnapping Alert On Gbagada Expressway; Enhances Security Measures

In response to a viral travel advisory circulating on social media concerning an alleged increase in kidnapping incidents along Gbagada Expressway, the Lagos State Police Command vehemently denies issuing such an alert.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the claim is false and assures the public of their commitment to ensuring safety.

However, recognizing the concerns raised in the advisory, Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has ordered an immediate review of the security architecture in the affected area. Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Area Commanders will undertake this assessment to prevent any potential security threats.

CP Fayoade emphasizes that the enhanced security measures will undergo regular reviews to guarantee the safety of road users and residents. Lagosians are encouraged to carry on with their lawful activities without fear, and CP Fayoade urges everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station or the Lagos State Police Command Control Room.
