Kolo Peter Chado Bags CRAN Award In Lagos


The Executive and members of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) has honoured the former NCS Customs Area Controller of Ogun 1 Area Command, Idiroko, Ogun State, retired Comptroller Kolo Peter Chado for his contributions in anti smuggling.

Hybrid News Nigeria reported that It was a moment of honour and recognition for hard work, as the prestigious Excellent Award In Anti Smuggling was bestowed on Retired Comptroller Kolo Peter Chado.

According to CRAN Award Committee Chairman, Mr. Joshua Uloko, “Kolo Peter deserved the honour for the significant roles he played during his time as the Controller of Ogun 1 Area Command, Idiroko, Ogun State.

The hybrid News Nigeria reports that retired Comptroller Peter Chado Kolo was born in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State on the 15th of November, 1962.

He attended Government Secondary School, Abuja (present Suleja) and graduated in 1981. He was admitted into the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1982, where he was awarded BA (Hons) Geography and Planning.

He proceeded to Lagos State University, Ojo for another degree in Law where he bagged LLB (Law) in 2005. Diploma in Shipping, Brunel University, London UK 2006. Diploma in National Security, Galilee international Management Institute 2010, Masters Philosophy in Public Admin. 2015. Thereafter, he went to Nigeria Law School, Lagos Campus. He graduated and was called to Bar and awarded BL (Barrister at Law).

Kolo Peter Chado was enlisted into the Service 3rd April, 1989 as a Cadet Officer and was commissioned in 1989. He has served in various capacities and grew through the ranks which include: Area 1 Command, Port Harcourt, Seme Area Command, Ogun Area Command (Idiroko), MM Area Command, Lagos, Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU), Lagos, PTML Area Command, Lagos, Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU), Port Harcourt, Head of various Revenue Taskforce.

Retired Comptroller PC Kolo is member of various prestigious Professional associations: Member Nigerian Bar ASSOCIATION (NBA), Associate Certified Institute of Shipping (ACIS), Member Galilee International Management Institute, Nigeria Chapter (GIMI).

The Award was presented to Assistant Comptroller Gbenga Otunla, Coordinator Roving ‘C’ Team, Ogun 1 Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, Idiroko by HRM Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi (Oluwo of Iwu) Telu 1, at the 30th Edition of the Annual Lecture/Award Ceremony of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN), which was held on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Sheraton Hotel and Towers, along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja, Lagos.

The theme of this year celebration was “Proliferation Of Drug, Bane Of Insecurity”.

The theme was carefully selected to demonstrate the contributions of Customs towards sustainable future of the world, through consideration of social, economic, health and environmental concerns while discharging their official duties.
