The abductors of Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, National President of the Afenifere National Youth Council, have issued a chilling 48-hour ultimatum, threatening to kill him if a ransom of N100 million is not paid.
In a distressing voice recording, Ojajuni revealed that he had already been shot in the buttock by his captors, who remained adamant about receiving the full ransom. His family, struggling to meet the demand, pleaded for a reduction, explaining that they were trying to sell a small piece of land to raise funds.
“We don’t have that kind of money. We are trying to sell a small piece of land in the village to raise funds. How do we make the payment?” a family member asked during negotiations.
However, the kidnappers rejected an offer of N10 million, insisting on their initial demand.
“God forbid bad thing. If you keep talking nonsense, you won’t hear from me again. My boss set the price at N100 million, but if you can offer something better, let me know,” one of the abductors responded.
Ojajuni recounted the terrifying moment of his abduction, stating that he was ambushed while traveling between Ondo and Kabba.
“I was supposed to travel on Sunday but postponed my flight to Monday. I had a meeting at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce at 10:00 a.m., so I left home early. Between Ondo and Kabba, they ambushed us and started shooting. I’m bleeding now,” he said.
In a shocking revelation, the gang leader claimed they had been paid N50 million to kidnap and kill Ojajuni, with instructions to behead him, mutilate his body, and remove his eyes.
“Someone paid us to abduct and kill him. We were instructed to behead him, cut off his manhood, and remove his eyes. If you don’t pay, forget about this man,” the kidnapper warned.
Desperate for survival, Ojajuni urged his family to seek the intervention of human rights activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju.
“They’ve given me 48 hours. If the ransom isn’t paid, they will kill me. This is my last chance,” he pleaded.
His abduction, which took place on Monday, February 17, 2025, was confirmed on Thursday by the Afenifere National Youth Council. The group’s National Secretary, Abiodun Aderohunmu, condemned the incident and called for urgent intervention.
“We are deeply concerned about his safety and urge the authorities to take immediate action to secure his release. Prince Ojajuni is a strong advocate for youth empowerment and development,” Aderohunmu stated.
A member of the group further emphasized the urgency, revealing that the kidnappers had shot Ojajuni twice and remained firm on their N100 million demand.
As tension mounts, efforts to secure his release continue, with concerns growing over his fate as the 48-hour deadline looms.
