Joint Security Team Storms Anambra South, Arrests Six Over Robbery, Vandalism As Gunrunner ‘Kiss Me’ Declared Wanted

A combined security team made up of the Nigeria Police and operatives of the Anambra State Vigilante Service has recorded major breakthroughs in Anambra South Senatorial District as part of ongoing simultaneous offensive operations across the state’s three senatorial zones.

In a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the security team arrested six suspects linked to armed robbery and electrical cable vandalism in and around Oko community. The operatives also recovered an English Beretta pistol and vandalised electric cables during separate operations, while declaring a manhunt for a notorious cultist and gunrunner known as “Kiss Me,” said to be terrorising residents of Oko.

On the evening of May 19, 2025, two suspects — Anagor Chinedu, aged 25, and Anagor Rapuluchukwu, aged 23 — were arrested in Ifite Village, Oko. A Beretta pistol was recovered from them. During interrogation, the duo confessed to being members of the Beggars’ Confraternity cult group and named “Kiss Me” as their armourer. Security operatives have since launched a manhunt to apprehend the said cult leader and dismantle his criminal network.

In a related development, the team swiftly responded to a distress call from the permanent site of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, where miscreants were reportedly vandalising electrical infrastructure. Four suspects — Chukwuka Usulor, Chukwuemeka Michael, Ikenna Oke, and Ebuka Okeke — were arrested at the scene. A quantity of stolen electric cables was recovered from them.

The Anambra State Police Command reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and vowed to continue to deny criminals the space to operate within the state.

Investigations into the various cases are ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of inquiries. Meanwhile, the Command urges residents to continue to support security efforts by providing timely and credible information.
