Joint Security Operation Nabs Five Suspected Kidnappers In Ekiti State

In a collaborative effort to rid the state of criminal elements, a joint operation involving the Police, NSCDC, AMOTEKUN, O.P.C, and local hunters successfully apprehended five individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping. The operation, spanning Oke-Osun, Ikere/Igbo-Okah, and the dense forest around Iju/Ikere boundary, yielded significant results in the fight against crime.

The arrested suspects were identified as USMAN JELILI, MOHAMMED BANDE, ABUBAKAR ALIU, ISAH ABDULAHI, and SULEIMAN ABDULAHI. Initially claiming to be herdsmen during interrogation, it was later revealed that none of them had any cattle, and no livestock was found in the forest where the operation took place.

In addition to their apprehension, law enforcement recovered two motorcycles, one cutlass, one jackknife/dagger, and four phones from the suspects’ possession. These findings further underscored the suspicion surrounding their activities.

The collaborative effort of the Police, NSCDC, AMOTEKUN, O.P.C, and local hunters demonstrates a commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Ekiti State residents. The arrested individuals will face due legal processes, contributing to the ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the region.
