Joint Security Forces in Anambra have recovered three unexploded improvised explosives, two abandoned vehicles, and dangerous materials during a coordinated raid on a criminal camp in the Ihiala region.
The operation, which targeted Lilu, Mbosi, and Isseke areas of Ihiala, was based on intelligence gathered over time. Security operatives uncovered copper wires, fuel, and other incriminating materials used for explosives in the camp, a significant development in the state’s efforts to curb criminal activities.
Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, commended the joint forces for their successful operation and charged them to sustain the momentum in ongoing efforts to combat criminal elements. He reassured residents of Anambra State that the police and other security agencies remain committed to maintaining law and order, while ensuring that criminal groups are denied any space to operate.
The raid is part of a broader security initiative aimed at addressing safety concerns in the state. The Joint Operations are still ongoing, and further developments will be communicated in due course, according to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies to enhance the safety of the region.
