INSECURITY: Imo CP Activates Operation Search And Flush, Orders Officers To Occupy Public Space

The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Abutu Yaro, has activated ‘Operation Search And Flush’ in a bid to return peace and tranquillity in the State.

He also ordered police officers to occupy public spaces and neutralise any move by mischief makers to disturb the peace in the state.

This charge was disclosed on Sunday, in a press release made by the State’s police spokesman, SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando.

He said: “In line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, as well as the mandate and determination of the new Management of Imo State Police Command, in providing peace and tranquillity in the State, CP Abutu Yaro, has activated the ‘Operation Search And Flush’ at the State Police Command Owerri.

“The CP while deploying his Operatives charged them to do their jobs creditably and ensure that the interest of the members of the public is paramount while discharging their duties. Also, the officers were warned to be swift in the response to distress calls.

“He also charged them to neutralise any bandit seen to ensure that Imo State returns to its rightful place as the most peaceful state not just in the SouthEast but the nation at large.”

The Police Commissioner assured his Officers that the state governor, Hope Uzodinma has made adequate arrangements for their welfare, hence they must remain focused and abhor thoughts of extortion and other corrupt practices.

“Police teams will be posted to all the Local Government Areas in the State for crime prevention /detection patrol as well as confidence building patrols.

Also, the CP admonished theem to be professional at all times, and strive to be good ambassadors of the force. He tasked them to occupy the public space and ensure visibility around their duty post at all times.”
