The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has issued orders for the deployment of two senior police officers.
In the new transfer, CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, has been posted as the new Commissioner of Police for Abia State, while CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala, psc, will assume the position of Commissioner of Police, Special Protection Unit at the Force Headquarters.
This was disclosed in a statement made available to journalists by the Force Headquarters’ Public Relations Officer in Abuja, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
CP Kenechukwu holds a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Psychology from Anambra State University. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 and has since served in various operational, investigative, and administrative roles in Ogun, Imo, FCT, Plateau, and Kaduna State Commands.
He has undergone several tactical and leadership courses both within and outside Nigeria, including the Policy, Strategy, and Leadership Course (PSLC) at NIPSS Kuru, Jos, and the International Course for Police Officers in China, among others.
CP Mustapha is a graduate of the esteemed Bayero University Kano (BUK), where he earned a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Sociology. He also holds a Master’s degree in Law and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria. He has received training in management and leadership through various courses within and outside Nigeria.
The Inspector-General of Police has urged the newly posted senior officers to uphold professionalism and respect for the rights of citizens in their new assignments. He has also called upon them to vigorously pursue the task of ensuring public safety and security in their respective Areas of Responsibility (AORs).
Furthermore, the IGP appeals to the Government and the people of Abia State to offer their support to the new Commissioner of Police in his new role.
