IGP Mourns The Passing of Retired AIG Okoye Ikemefuna

The Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, is deeply saddened to announce the peaceful departure of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Okoye Ikemefuna, on 7th January, 2024.

Born on 15th June 1955, AIG Okoye Ikemefuna joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP in 1984, dedicating himself to a career marked by distinction and unwavering commitment to duty. His significant contributions to law enforcement were particularly notable during his tenures as Commissioner of Police in Ogun state from 2010 to 2014 and as AIG Zone 11 Osogbo in 2015.

In a press release, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late AIG Okoye R. Ikemefuna. Acknowledging the grief that accompanies such loss, the Inspector General of Police prayed for solace during this difficult time.

AIG Okoye Ikemefuna’s impact on the law enforcement community is remembered with respect and gratitude. The force recognizes his indelible mark and the legacy he leaves behind.

Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, conveyed the official announcement, extending the sympathies of the entire Nigeria Police Force to those affected by the loss. As the law enforcement community mourns the passing of a dedicated officer, the IGP and the force honor AIG Okoye Ikemefuna’s years of service and dedication. May his soul rest in peace.
