The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D., representing the entire Nigeria Police Force, has expressed deep condolences on the passing of retired CP Fatai Adio Shittu. CP Shittu’s demise on the 17th of November 2023 is mourned profoundly.
Renowned for his distinguished service within various capacities across different states, CP Shittu left an indelible mark on the Nigeria Police Force. His commitment to duty shone notably during his tenures as CP Welfare, Provost, and CP of Zamfara State Police Command until his retirement in August 2011, underscoring his devotion to purposeful service.
Born on the 23rd of August 1950 in Offa, Kwara State, CP Shittu’s educational journey from Offa Grammar School led him to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, where he pursued studies in History. Joining the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet in 1979, he served diligently in numerous states, including Kebbi, Ondo, Lagos, Imo, Cross River, Delta, Zamfara, Ogun, Ebonyi, Abuja, Edo, among others.
