The Nigeria Police Force has expressed grave concern over reports of alleged extortion and unethical conduct during the ongoing promotion interviews for Inspectors seeking advancement to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun strongly condemned these corrupt practices, emphasizing that such actions undermine the core values of the institution and will not be tolerated. The IGP has urged all officers to report any instances of misconduct directly to him via a dedicated hotline at 09077120194 or to the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) at 08037168147.
In response to these allegations, the Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability in all promotion procedures. The IGP has made it clear that any officer found engaging in corrupt practices for personal gain will face severe disciplinary measures. He stressed the importance of maintaining ethical standards and working collectively to uphold the integrity and credibility of the Police Force.
ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, reiterated the IGP’s stance, urging all officers to act with integrity and report any unethical behavior to ensure a fair and transparent promotion process.
