Born in the vibrant city of Aba on March 3, 1966, his roots trace back to Azara Obiato in Imo State, where his journey of public service and leadership began. Academically, he is very sound. He did his primary and secondary education early in life.
A scientist by training, specializing in Bacteriology, ACG Nnadi’s academic pursuits reflect a diverse range of knowledge. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business & Entrepreneurial Studies and mastering Business Administration from the esteemed University of Calabar, his multidisciplinary education laid the foundation for a career marked by excellence and innovation.
Joining the Nigeria Customs Service as an Assistant Superintendent in 1991, Comptroller Nnadi’s ascent through the ranks showcased his exceptional leadership qualities. He was instrumental in the formulation of the ECOWAS Joint Border Post, a monumental achievement highlighting his dedication to regional integration and cooperation.
Internally, Comptroller Nnadi’s contributions reverberate through his involvement in committees focusing on Customs & Excise Management Act review, Service Staff Manning Level, and his role as a proactive Public Relations Officer within the Nigeria Customs Service.

He played a pivotal role in various international initiatives, including the implementation of the Concession of Lagos Ports in 2006, introduction of the ECOWAS Common External Tariff, Destination Inspection Scheme, and the Customs e-Payment regime in 2008.
His commitment to continuous learning and global perspectives is evident through his participation in courses spanning Public Relations, Leadership & Management, Customs Modernization, Trade Facilitation, and Strategic Command Responsibility.

A PERSONAL GLIMPSE: Beyond his professional endeavors, Comptroller Nnadi finds solace in family and personal interests. Married to Chinelo Dera Nnadi and blessed with three sons, he values the support and strength derived from family life. His leisure pursuits include indulging in golf, immersing himself in the world of literature, and savoring the richness of documentaries.

The Tin-Can Island Port (TCIP) Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) witnessed a change in leadership as Comptroller Frank Onyeka received the leadership baton from Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) Dera Nnadi mni, on Friday 20th December 2024.
