In a bid to empower young innovators in Africa, HabariPay’s Squad has officially announced its inaugural hackathon, “Take on Squad Hackathon 1.0.” Scheduled for January 19th and 20th, 2024, at the GTCO Training Complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the event aims to foster creativity and problem-solving within local communities.
Targeting students from Nigerian universities and tertiary institutions, the hackathon challenges teams to devise innovative solutions to both local and broader societal issues. With a focus on imparting transformative technological skills, participants will have the unique opportunity to utilize Squad’s cutting-edge APIs to execute their ideas.
The two-day event promises an immersive experience, featuring intense coding sessions on day one and culminating in product demos, panel discussions, and the winners’ announcement on day two. The top-performing team will be awarded N2.5 million, followed by N1.5 million for the first runner-up and N1 million for the third-placed team.
