Africa’s premier culinary and cultural showcase, the GTCO Food and Drink Festival, returns for its 8th edition with promises of shared experiences, rich flavors, and opportunities for small businesses. The much-anticipated event will be held from Friday, May 2nd to Sunday, May 4th, 2025, at the GTCentre, Plot 1 Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Organized by Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO), the festival has grown into a major platform for celebrating Africa’s vibrant food culture while supporting indigenous enterprises. This year’s theme, “A Shared Experience,” underscores the festival’s commitment to connecting people through the stories behind every meal—stories of tradition, family, and cultural heritage.
The 2025 festival will feature 204 free retail stalls, giving local foodpreneurs the opportunity to showcase a variety of culinary delights including traditional Nigerian dishes, regional specialties, fusion cuisine, gourmet desserts, and refreshing beverages. Visitors will also enjoy a street food arena, interactive masterclasses by world-renowned chefs, and a children’s play area, ensuring a fun and engaging experience for all age groups.
Speaking ahead of the event, Mr. Segun Agbaje, Group Chief Executive Officer of GTCO Plc, stated: “The GTCO Food and Drink Festival is a celebration of our rich cultural diversity and entrepreneurial spirit. Every meal shared is a reminder of our traditions and the universal language of food that connects us all. Beyond the festivities, the festival reflects our commitment to supporting local enterprise—creating a free business platform where food retailers can connect with consumers and grow sustainably.”
Since its inception, the GTCO Food and Drink Festival has hosted over a million guests, helping to launch and expand hundreds of small businesses in the food retail sector. It has also featured entrepreneurial masterclasses facilitated by globally acclaimed chefs and food industry leaders.
Admission to the festival is free, and all are invited to partake in the three-day celebration of food, culture, and community. For more details, visit (https://foodanddrink.gtcoplc.com).
