Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has issued a statement to clarify recent media reports suggesting that the bank’s website had been hacked, cloned, and that customer data had been intercepted. The bank has assured customers and stakeholders that these claims are largely inaccurate and have been exaggerated.

GTBank acknowledged that there was an isolated attempt to compromise its website domain, but firmly stated that the bank’s website has not been cloned. Furthermore, the bank emphasized that no customer data is stored on its website, thereby dismissing any claims of customer data being compromised.

The bank’s team of Information Security Experts is actively working to restore the domain settings, and GTBank reassured customers that the website will be fully functional shortly.

GTBank urged customers to disregard the alarming reports circulating in the media, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding customer data and maintaining the highest standards of security.

“We thank our customers for their continued support and trust in us,” the statement concluded.
