GOVERNOR ABUBAKAR SANI BELLO COMMISERATES WITH THE BISHOP AND ENTIRE MEMBERS OF MINNA CATHOLIC DIOCESE OVER THE KILLING OF FR. JOHN GBAKAAN, DEAN LAPAI DEANERY

Niger State Governor and Chairman NCGF Abubakar Sani Bello has commiserate with the Bishop and members of the Catholic Diocese of Minna over the abduction and subsequent killing of Rev. Fr. John Moses Gbakaan by armed bandits.

Governor Sani Bello in a condolence message described the ugly incident as “unfortunate, callous and barbaric to carry-out such act on a clergy who dedicated his life to the service of God and mankind.”

The Governor said he is indeed saddened by the situation but however remain committed to bringing lasting solutions to the nefarious activities of bandits in the State. This was contained in a press statement by Mary Noel-Berje

the Governor of Niger State.

While the Governor prayed God to have mercy on the soul of the slain Clergy, he also prayed that God will give the immediate family members of the deceased, all the Leaders and Catholic Members under the Minna Diocese and Nigeria as a whole the fortitude to bear the loss.

The late Clergy was abducted alongside his brother on the Lambata-Gulu road. Until his death, he was the Dean Lapai Deanery.

Similarly the Governor expressed gratitude to God for the safe release and return of the younger brother of late Fr. Gbakaan whom they were both abducted.

The Governor pray he recovers quickly from the entire trauma he might have gone through in the hands of his abductors.
