The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa, has called on newly promoted senior officers in the Division to remain selfless and committed to their duties as they assume higher responsibilities.
The GOC made this charge during the decoration ceremony held at the 81 Division Officers’ Mess, Outer Marina, Victoria Island, Lagos. While congratulating the officers, Major General Mijinyawa noted that their promotion was a recognition of their hard work, loyalty, and dedication to the Nigerian Army and the nation.
“Promotion comes with immense responsibilities,” he reminded the officers. “The Army expects you to lead by example and prioritize the welfare of your troops and families, ensuring that your new ranks translate into better outcomes for those under your care.”
The ceremony, which saw the decoration of two Brigadier Generals, 12 Colonels, and four Lieutenant Colonels, was attended by senior officers, family members, friends, and well-wishers.
