GOC 81 Division Tasks Officers On Capacity Building

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army (NA), Major General Umar Thama Musa has called on officers of the Division to take advantage of operations planning cadre 2022 to build their capacity for optimal performance.

Maj Gen Musa gave the charge when he declared open a 4 days Operations Planning Cadre for Officers within 81 Div NA Area of Responsibility (AOR) at the Division’s Officers’ Mess.

Speaking on the theme “Capacity building at Tactical level of operational planning in a joint environment”, the GOC represented by the Commander 81 Div Garrison Brig Gen NMS Nagidada stated that, 81 Div NA Operations Planning Cadre is aimed at availing participants with the necessary capabilities and competences that they require to successfully plan future operations while also providing the opportunity to promote synergy and cooperation with sister services.

The GOC added that the cadre is also expected to explore ways of building on existing efforts of the Division to meet its operational needs.

He further stated that, armies all over the world have continually engaged in training and capacity building to enable them surmount emerging security challenges.

He further stressed that the NA equally recognized this fact and therefore seeks to develop capacity of its personnel through realistic training that will enhance its operations.

General Musa enjoined all participants to take advantage of the cadre to derive maximum benefits.

Series of lecture were delivered by seasoned Resource Persons which included the Deputy Commandant Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre Maj Gen Sunday Igbinomwanhia on “Military Decision making process in internal security and Colonel Jerry Maigari who delivered a lecture titled “Planning Consideration for CITCOIN Operations: A Tactical Comd Experience”.
