FOC West Visits NAF Logistics Command, Seeks Stronger Collaboration On Operation AWATSE


In a bid to reinforce inter-service cooperation, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral MG Oamen, on February 25, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters Logistics Command of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Ikeja, Lagos.

He was warmly received by the Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Air Vice Marshal AK Ademuwagun, who lauded the visit as a step toward strengthening existing ties between the two military formations.

Rear Admiral Oamen commended the Nigerian Air Force’s contribution to Operation AWATSE, a joint military initiative aimed at tackling security threats in Lagos and Ogun States. He particularly praised the Air Component’s exceptional performance in the operation, emphasizing the need for continued synergy between the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Air Force.

In his response, Air Vice Marshal Ademuwagun welcomed the visit and reiterated the importance of sustained inter-agency collaboration. He further called for the revitalization of Operation AWATSE, stressing the need for enhanced funding, improved structure, and additional operational platforms to maximize its effectiveness in countering security threats.

The meeting reinforced the commitment of both Commands to national security, particularly in safeguarding critical infrastructure and tackling emerging threats in Nigeria’s western region.
