Fidelity Bank’s Food Distribution Initiative Reaches Families In Keffi

Fidelity Bank PLC, a leading financial institution in Nigeria, has distributed food packs to women, widows, children, and vulnerable individuals in Keffi, Nasarawa State, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.

The distribution event, tagged the “Fidelity Food Bank Initiative,” was carried out in partnership with the ABBASID Charity Foundation. Meksley Nwagboh, the Divisional Head of Brand and Communication at Fidelity Bank, highlighted the bank’s commitment to supporting communities across Nigeria through this initiative.

“Since April 2023, when we launched the Fidelity Food Bank initiative, we have distributed over 100,000 food packs in more than 100 communities nationwide. This initiative underscores our dedication to the well-being of our host communities and our commitment to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2, and 3, which focus on poverty eradication, zero hunger, and good health and well-being,” Nwagboh stated.

Hajia Hauwa Abbas, the founder of Abbasid Foundation, expressed her gratitude for being selected as the bank’s Food Bank partner in the North. She listed some of the benefiting states, which include Jigawa, Zamfara, Zaria, Kebbi, Bauchi, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). “I am very pleased with Fidelity Bank because, alongside conducting business in our community, they are also giving back to us, especially to women,” Abbas remarked.

The food distribution event also saw Senator Wadada Ahmed, representing the Nasarawa West Senatorial District, leveraging the Fidelity Food Bank outreach to provide additional food items to the community. Represented by his wife, Zainab Wadada-Ahmed, Senator Ahmed emphasized the importance of such philanthropic gestures, especially for orphans and widows.

“We are here today to give back to our people. Considering the hardship in the country, this is the least we can do. I appeal to well-meaning Nigerians to collaborate and help those in need,” said Zainab Wadada-Ahmed.

One of the recipients, Mrs. Susan Nyikwagh, expressed her gratitude and urged other organizations and individuals to emulate Fidelity Bank’s initiative to aid vulnerable members of society.

Fidelity Bank is recognized as one of Nigeria’s best banks, serving over 8.5 million customers across 251 business offices in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, as well as through digital banking channels. The bank has received numerous awards, including the Export Finance Bank of the Year at the 2023 BusinessDay Banks and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards, and the Best Payment Solution Provider Nigeria 2023 by the Global Banking and Finance Awards.
