Fidelity Bank Plc marked this year’s Children’s Day with an inspiring event at its Oniru grounds, Lagos, unveiling the Read2Lead Anthology and awarding scholarships to outstanding pupils in a celebration filled with learning, fun, and creativity.
Themed “The Fidelity Fantasyland 3.0,” the event attracted hundreds of students, parents, and educators who enjoyed a variety of activities including dancing competitions, face painting, arcade games, and singing contests, creating a memorable day for all attendees.
A key highlight was the official launch of the Read2Lead Anthology—an impressive collection of superhero-themed essays penned by 30 talented young Nigerians. The anthology, based on the theme “Naija Superheroes,” showcases the creativity and storytelling abilities of the finalists selected from over 3,000 participants nationwide.
Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Managing Director and CEO of Fidelity Bank, praised the young writers and emphasized the bank’s commitment to literacy and education through the Read2Lead initiative.
“Today is more than just the conclusion of a competition. It is a celebration of vision, hard work, and potential,” she said. “We provided books, writing tools, and opportunities for creative expression to thousands of young Nigerians, helping them read more deeply, write more clearly, and think more creatively. This initiative reflects our belief that education is one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives and shaping the future.”
Describing the anthology as “a powerful testament to the promise of Nigeria’s next generation,” Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe encouraged the audience to view the stories as “seeds of wisdom, leadership, character, and a brighter tomorrow.”
In addition to the anthology launch, Fidelity Bank awarded scholarships worth ₦150,000 each to four exceptional pupils—Thiago Chukwudubem Agada, Nabeela Nia Rufai, Victory Alize Chukwuebuka, and Osinachi Olivia Onyeaghala—selected through the Fidelity Savings Loyalty Scheme (FSLS). This initiative highlights the bank’s ongoing dedication to supporting education and rewarding academic excellence.
The Fidelity Fantasyland 3.0 celebration successfully combined fun and education, leaving children inspired and parents proud, while reinforcing Fidelity Bank’s mission to invest in Nigeria’s youth for a better future.
