Fidelity Bank Extends Lifeline To FCT Communities With Food Distribution Drive

In a bid to combat hunger and support underserved communities, Fidelity Bank Plc has distributed food packs to residents of seven communities in the Mabushi district of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The outreach, carried out under the Fidelity Food Bank programme, aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2, which aims to eradicate hunger and improve food security. The initiative saw officials of the bank personally deliver essential food items to hundreds of residents, especially targeting vulnerable households.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Director, North, Fidelity Bank Plc, Mr. Sufiyanu Garba, reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to community development and social impact. “This initiative stems from our deep-seated responsibility to support underserved communities and contribute to the fight against hunger in Nigeria,” he said. “By addressing the root causes of poverty and hunger, we hope to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Nigerians.”

Garba added that the bank remains committed to investing in the well-being of communities where it operates, stating that the Fidelity Food Bank project is a central part of its broader CSR strategy focused on health and social welfare.

The District Head of Mabushi, Mr. Hassan Danagna, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the community, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. “Fidelity Bank’s support is unprecedented and has brought great relief to our people, especially as we approach the holy month of Ramadan,” he noted.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Mukhtar Mohamed, also lauded the initiative, stating that the food items came at a critical time for families struggling with the high cost of living.
