The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully recovered 19 stolen vehicles between January and February 2025. The vehicles, stolen from various locations across the FCT, were found in Jos, Niger, Kaduna, and within the capital territory itself.
According to a statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the recoveries were made by different divisions and units, including Maitama, Mpape, Bwari, Central Police Station, Trademore, Mabushi, Utako, Gwarimpa, Dirumi, and Kubwa, as well as the Anti-Car Theft Unit.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, psc, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting residents and their property. He urged vehicle owners to take proactive security measures, such as installing vehicle tracking devices to increase the chances of swift recovery in case of theft.
Additionally, the police recommended the use of steering wheel locks, pedal locks, alarm systems, and immobilizers to further enhance vehicle security. Residents were also advised to avoid parking in isolated areas, remain vigilant, and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
